Heavy Shielding System

The Heavy Shielding System is the standard shielding system mounted on Romulan starships. The shielding system provides for a much higher capacity than the Federation's Standard Shielding System, primarily because the vessels it is usually deployed on are much larger and can produce much higher power levels, enabling greater shield absorption and dissipation. The shielding also has many properties similar to auto-modulating shielding, primarily because it usually is generated using a number of shield generators and can be overtaxed or reshaped to increase coverage where an enemy is firing.
