[edit] Physical Description
Anna is in good shape for a person of her age, a statement that makes her cringe. She engages in a regular physical exercise routine and obeys a strict diet to maintain her energy levels, weight and physical strength. She wears her hair cut short and makes no attempt to hide the fact that it's greying. She has undergone two surgeries to correct age related vision problems but has been known to wear old fashioned reading glasses after a long session in front of the screen. When not in uniform she perfers bright colours; anything but green or black.
[edit] Psychological Profile
Anna has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome due to multiple incidents. Anna recognizes this as the source of her survivor's guilt which had lead to a long term career in the Marines even though it was entered into as a short term commmittment. She forms strong attachements but often comes across as cold when dealing with younger officers. She is strong in leadership abilities, personal conflict resolution and a solid strategic. However, due to her exeriences against first the Borg and then the Dominion Forces she is what her counsellor calls 'borderline xenophobic paranoid' and Anna calls 'cautious' in regards to potential hostile races which the Federation encounters.
[edit] Family
Born to research scientists Anna spent most of her early years on Earth and Vulcan. As an only child her parents encouraged her to explore the history of the areas where they lived and this grew into a fascination with anthropology and sociology. Upon completing her primary and secondary education Anna applied to and was accepted to the University of Cambridge's Social Anthropology department where her studies focused on the effect of the military on social growth. After her first year Anna applied for a credit transfer to Starfleet Academy's Archaeology and Anthropology department.
Anna maintains a close relationship with her parents, children and grandchildren. Although often physically distant there is a constant exchange of communication and visits.

The destruction of New Providence left John without family and drawn him closer to Anna’s side of the family. He is currently in practice on Obsidian Planet.

[edit] Post Secondary Education
[edit] Starfleet Academy
Majoring in Archaeology and Anthropology with a minor in Security Anna's four years at Starfleet Academy was uneventful and undistinguished academically although personally she met and married her future husband who was interning at Mercy Hospital. Her interest, however, gradually evolved from studying the effect of the military to the psychology of the military to an interest in the military itself. Upon graduating from the academy Anna delayed accepting her commission and applied for transfer to the Starfleet Marine Corps.
[edit] Starfleet Marine Officer School
Anna excelled in the psychology and leadership aspects of Marine training while her more physical skill building was somewhat more challenging. During her final year at Quantico Anna and John’s first child, Joanna, was born. After completing her basic Marine training and Officer’s School in Quantico she was commissioned as a second lieutenant and assigned to Echo Company, 6th Battalion, 22nd Regiment.
[edit] Career
[edit] 2364 to 2367
As the junior most officer in the regiment Anna was charged with the security and care of the regimental mascot Batisse XXII, a somewhat obstinate goat. After a three month orientation period as platoon executive officer Anna became platoon commanding officer. Upon her promotion to first lieutenant she added company executive officer to her duties.
[edit] 2367 and the Battle of Wolf 359
The Battle of Wolf 359 was for Anna, as it was for most of the personnel involved, a life changing event. The vague plans for a tour or two followed by a retirement from the armed forces to concentrate on her family and studies were utterly destroyed by the Borg attack and the defeat of the Starfleet forces at Wolf 359. Assigned to the USS Kyushu the Delta and Echo companies were decimated when the Kyushu was disabled and near destroyed. Survivors, trapped in isolated pockets with meagre life support were rescued but the 6th Battalion was severely reduced in terms of experienced personnel. After a brief convalescence leave and long conversations with both her husband and her counsellor Anna elected to remain in the SFMC. After the birth of their son Anna rejoined the Regiment as company commander of Echo Company.
[edit] 2368 to 2373
Upon assuming command of Echo Company Anna was promoted to the rank of captain and was heavily involved in the rebuilding of the 6th Battalion and the introduction of the new equipment and materiel. In 2371 she was promoted to major and in 2372 she added battalion executive officer to her duties.
[edit] The Dominion War
During the Dominion War Anna’s unit saw combat in several conflicts both in ground based and ship-to-ship action. These conditions, as well as the isolation and worry for her family after the attack on Starfleet Head Quarters, increased her survivor’s guilt and determination to remain “hands-on” to protect her troops. During the war she was promoted to lieutenant colonel and becoming both battalion commander and regimental executive officer.
[edit] 2375 to 2381
After the war Anna took a brief leave before again becoming involved once again in the rebuilding of the badly mauled 6th Battalion as well as the 22nd Regiment as a whole. Indeed, one of her first assignments was the procurement of Batisse XXIII, a mundane act that Anna took great care and secret delight in. Anna was promoted to Colonel and made regimental commander in 2379.
[edit] 2382 to present
In 1382 Anna accepted a lateral promotion to a staff postition in the Headquarter and Supply Battalion of the Ninth Marine Division as the S1: Personnel and Administration officer. She considers this as semi-retirement, moving away from day to day command to more administrative duties.
