[edit] USS Horus- The History
The USS Horus began its initial commission as the USS Tsunami. The history of the Tsunami is one that was filled with, for lack of a better term, bad luck. It's initial crew was besieged by incidents that involved several unknown species who bore astonishing similarities to legendary races which were common among many Federation races. In particular the races involved were those of the sort that mothers used to scare young children. During her first tour, the ship suffered heavier losses than some ships see during war time. While most of the reports have been sealed by the Federation Security Council, enough information is available to support the theory that the Tsunami and her crew were successful in removing the threat that these creatures posed.
Her second tour was cut very short. The Tsunami was assaulted by unknown attackers while on a routine patrol near the no-man's land of space near the juncture of Federation, Klingon, AND Romulan space. Though damaged, the ship was still space worthy and had full life support. When it was found, no living crew, save for the ship mascot, was found aboard. The Tsunami was towed to Starbase 47 to undergo repairs and refitting.
During the time that she was docked there, the 9th Fleet's Admiralty took advantage of the recent change of naming conventions for several of the classes to re-christen the Tsunami to the Horus. While it was reportedly to bring her into line with the new conventions, no one can deny that a major factor in the name change was to try to break the streak of bad luck that had plagued her during her first 2 tours of duty.
For her first tour under the new name, she is under the command of Captain John Schroedinger, and has just recently left Starbase 47, en-route to Hralden II for an emergency resupply mission.

The USS Horus (NCC-82460) is an Anubis class starship in Task Force 47's Task Group B, "The Minutemen". Her condition at this time is kind of shaky as she is being rushed through repairs for an emergency relief mission to a outlying colony.
