A supposedly omnipotent race, they are well known by many species throughout the galaxy. Whether characteristic of their race or not, they are quite often associated with mayhem, trouble, poor behaviour, trickery, etc. At other times, they have been known to act in the best interests of weaker races, including humanity. One means of accomplishing this was by forewarning Starfleet of the Borg by, ironically, precipitating a war between the latter and the United Federation of Planets.
